Individual Based Modeling

Tool Website:

Individual-based models are designed to understand how stream and river salmonid populations respond to habitat alteration, including altered flow, temperature, and turbidity regimes and changes in channel morphology.

Geographic Location

Relevant to rivers and streams with adequate salmonid species and habitat information to populate model

Species mortality by life stage, habitat attributes, temperature over a range of discharges

Salmonid species population response to stream flow alteration

Linkage to Other Models

PHABSIM, Stream Temperature modeling, species mortality, stream habitat conditions, stream hydrology

Level of Effort

Extensive. Requires information related to individual species survival to changes in the physical environment.

Basin Scale Opportunity Assesment
